Booster Pump (New)
Isolate the electrical supply at the consumer unit, by removing the relevant fuse or open circuit the MCB or if fed from a 13amp outlet, unplug. The correct type of replacement pump must be bought before any work is done to make sure you have the unit to replace the one you are about to remove. If you are not confident to carry this process through it is wise not to start and a good idea to call in a professional plumber like a Streatham Plumber at a cost of course, but they will do the correct job.Note:Make sure that during this replacement process that great amount care is taken not to damage the plastic water connections on the replacement unit with heat in case any soldering needs to be done. And be aware of cross threading any fittings.a). Turn off the water supply to the pumps pipework. If fitted, open the drain cock to release any water from the pump pipework. The pumps water connections can be capped as they are usually flexi hoses. There may be a little water discharge as you disconnect the pipework. As previously stated the connections are usually flexible with push fit or compression joints, making reconnection easy. b). Undo the securing bolts from the pump base. Now open the terminal box on the pump body and disconnect the wires. Make a diagram of the electrical connections for re-fitting. You use a voltmeter or tester that is trusted to confirm no electrical feed is present even though it is off. Remove the pump once all connections are off. Fit the new unit in the reverse way that it was disconnected, always ensure that the last thing done is to re-connect the electrical supply in which ever form.
